PORTLAND, Ore. — U.S. officials say an Oregon man charged in an insider trading case has been leaving menacing, obscene and bigoted voicemail for federal prosecutors and shouldn’t be released.
John Kinnucan of Portland, appeared in court Friday after being arrested at his home the night before.
He’s accused of conspiracy and securities fraud. The government says he pumped public company insiders for secrets and sold the information to his clients as legitimate research.
In court documents, prosecutors say Kinnucan left most recent message Sunday in what they call “a campaign of threats and harassment.”
Kinnucan remained in custody Friday. A federal judge plans to hold a detention hearing Wednesday.
