BELFAST, Maine — The Greater Bay Area Ministerium will sponsor a Lenten luncheon series at noon on Wednesdays, Feb. 29 through March 28, at First Baptist Church, 95 High St.
All are invited to bring their own brown bag lunch to eat. Beverages and dessert will be provided.
The theme for this year’s series will be “Leaps of Faith” and will include messages from area clergy on the following schedule:
— Feb. 29, “Master and Slave,” the Rev. Arlin Larson of First Congregational Church, Searsport.
— March 7, “Callings,” the Rev. Martha Kirkpatrick of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, Belfast.
— March 14, “Silence,” the Rev. Kate Winters, First Church, United Church of Christ, Belfast.
— March 21, “Dancing on Thin Ice,” the Rev. Alan Shumway, First Baptist Church, Belfast.
— March 28, topic and speaker to be announced.
The Greater Bay Area Ministerium is made up of the following congregations: Belfast United Methodist Church; Church of the Holy Light of Belfast; First Baptist Church of Belfast; The First Church in Belfast, United Church of Christ; First Congregational Church of Searsport; Frankfort Congregational Church, United Church of Christ; Mid-coast Christian Fellowship of Belfast; St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Belfast; St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church of Belfast; Searsport & North Searsport United Methodist Churches; Unitarian Universalist Church of Belfast.
The purpose of the Greater Bay Area Ministerium is to acknowledge the religious diversity in the region and to gather for fellowship and collegial support, to be active in community social justice issues and to lead interfaith worship services for the community.
