BUCKSPORT, Maine — An Orrington man is facing felony arson charges stemming from a fire that destroyed a Bucksport camper earlier this month.

Andrew DiCesare, 24, was arrested by Bucksport police Officer Daniel Harlan on Wednesday evening and was taken to the Hancock County Jail, where he was being held on a warrant for Class A arson.

The arrest follows a joint investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and Bucksport police into a late-night fire on Feb. 5 at a camper on Millvale Road, police said. The camper, which had been converted into a permanent residence, was declared a total loss. The owner was not home at the time and there were no injuries.

Bucksport police Sgt. David Winchester said DiCesare apparently knew the victim. Winchester declined to release additional information but said the investigation is continuing.
