MARTINSVILLE, Ind. — Former NBA player Jerry Sichting (SEE-sting) has been named the interim head boys’ basketball coach at Martinsville High School after Tim Wolf abruptly retired after being arrested on a public indecency charge at an Indianapolis park.

The Reporter-Times of Martinsville reports that Sichting, who played at Martinsville High and Purdue, will take over for the remainder of the season. Martinsville athletic director Don Lipps says he hopes Sichting brings an element of stability after Wolf’s arrest.

Sichting has served as an assistant coach in the NBA and for Marquette.

Police said an officer arrested Wolf on Sunday on a misdemeanor public indecency charge after finding him in “a state of nudity” with a 17-year-old girl in his car at Eagle Creek Park. He had coached Martinsville for 25 years.
