BANGOR, Maine — A downed utility line resulted in a Sunday afternoon power outage affecting 1,322 Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. customers and resulting in a temporary road closure.

Bangor Hydro spokeswoman Susan Faloon said the line was disconnected by a fallen tree and that power was restored by 3:40 p.m.

The Bangor Police Department was notified of the downed line around 2:15 p.m. and an officer was dispatched to the site. Bangor Hydro crews responded about 15 minutes later.

Police closed Griffin Road to traffic from Kenduskeag Avenue to the back entrance to Husson University while the line was down, and power was cut, affecting primarily customers on Griffin Road and Kenduskeag Avenue.
