GREENFIELD – Marie “Mamie” A. Harris, 93, passed peacefully Feb. 4, 2012, at her home with her family by her side. She is now at home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born Sept. 19, 1918, in Milford, daughter of Charles Albert Wilbur and Blanche (Kennedy) Lenfest Wilbur.

In 1937, Marie married Fernald Harris. For 48 years they were married and made their home in Greenfield until his death. She continued to live there for another 27 years. Marie was a lifelong member and treasurer of Greenfield Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Rosalie and her husband, James Alexander Sr., of Greenfield, Linda and her husband, Peter Mason, of Enfield, and Deborah and her husband, Glendon Carroll, of Greenbush; 11 grandchildren, Cynthia, Kathy, Julia, Jeanine, James Jr., Brenda, Jeffery, Sandra, Jane, Tammy and Tracy; 28 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her special friends, Myrtle Shirland and her next-door neighbor, Kelly Ware, who participated with love in her care. She was Mamie to many. She was predeceased by her husband, Fernald “Pampie” F. Harris; daughter, Sandra; grandson, William Mason; four brothers and three sisters.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, with John Cutler, pastor of Greenfield Baptist Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments immediately after the service Saturday at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
