Comments for: Tips in Ayla Reynolds case slowing down, river search finds no evidence

Guidelines for posting on bangordailynews.com

The Bangor Daily News and the Bangor Publishing Co. encourage comments about stories, but you must follow our terms of service.

  1. Keep it civil and stay on topic
  2. No vulgarity, racial slurs, name-calling or personal attacks.
  3. People who harass others or joke about tragedies will be blocked.
The primary rule here is pretty simple: Treat others with the same respect you'd want for yourself. Here are some guidelines (see more):

I so hope they aren’t successful.  I know the odds go down each and every day she isn’t found, but I am still holding out hope for her.

    • Guest

      I couldn’t agree more.

    • Guest

Grimm as this may sound finding her either way would be good. It would not only bring her home and to rest, but may provide more clues to what happened to her and who did it.

      • Anonymous

It sounds like they pretty much know she is dead..its just finding her to provide evidence to who did the deed. Oh and I hope they do that real soon.  What kind of an animal could do something to that beautiful child?

        • Guest

Actually animals wouldn’t commit murder and then cover it up by conspiring with the other animals involved. Sadly the Human Race is capable of doing very terrible stuff.

          • Anonymous

            I agree…despicable~

          • Animals murder all the time and some of them even eat their young. The other animals just don’t care if they murder their own or eat their young.

One does have to remember that humans are nothing but primates that have evolved.

I check the BDN every morning, first thing, as I know many of you, and others do. I wonder if there is a reason why they are doing this again. I wonder if it has anything to do w/the stories from last week. None of us know, we can make guesses, but we just have no power or know the truth. I can’t imagine how those family members that truely love Ayla, must be feeling. All we can do is pray, pray, pray, and ask others that we know have faith to pray as well.

    • Anonymous

Definitely a reason there going back there, previous articles early this week late last week suggested they were to talk to the other adults (or cowards) in the house that night, no more then week later their back in the river again, someone said something and maybe different location this time, also not uncommon to search same body of water weather, ice in river had alot of play when they were doing their search. You can only keep your mouth shut for so long, one of these people are going to step forward and say something with plea bargain offer of some sort if they step forward and seperate themselves from the other cowards.

  • RedSox04evr

The dad had just moved into his mother’s house….have the police checked the dumpsters and landfills near his old apt in Portland? Too late now…they will never find the little girl.

    • Anonymous

What, the police didn’t report back to you all the results of all their investigative steps??  How terribly inconsiderate of them not to keep you in the loop.  Geesh…just because its not reported in the BDN doesn’t mean that it didn’t happen.

      • Anonymous

It doesn’t cost anything to be nice. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion without retribution.

      • Anonymous

I’m enjoying your posts.  I usually read them and shake me head and chuckle at these people.  Then I come across your posts and you’ve said it all

  • ptkitty

An abduction story told to the police and public  appears to be pure fabrication.  The three adults at the home (and perhaps others yet named) have apparently concocted a story that doesn’t make sense.

So who are these people? It seems that we actually know little or nothing about them, their backgrounds, and their current lifestyles.   With all the reporting on this story, you’d think we would be better informed.  What has happened to this little girl is a tragedy and a shame.

“There is a special place in hell for those who hurt children.”

    • Anonymous

I think one of the reasons we don’t know anything about the background of these people is because no one does real investigative reporting anymore. Whatever happened to real reporters????

Also…my guess (and of course it’s a guess) is that someone who knows something said to the police that they know that the baby was discarded by a bridge in the river…or something to that effect.

      • Anonymous

Reporters are afraid of lawsuits these days. As even criminals seem to get away with suing.

I from early on was wondering why they haven’t searched the landfill that dumpsters close to the scene are dumped at. I figured that they must have gotten some sort of hunch or real lead to the waters.

Reporters are too busy turning news into 10 second smut. Developing headlines that do not connect to the story. Too busy reporting college kids drinking, kids in HIGH SCHOOL running onto court to pray, petty shoplifters, bar room sqabbles, minor drug charges, and so on. Oohhhh ahhhhhhhh, so exciting…a college kid got drunk and urinated outside. Please, stop the presses, I can’t handle such investigative research.

It would be nice to get some news for a change.

      • Anonymous

Don’t forget all the in-depth reporting on BATH SALTS!!!!

I’m glad the investigators are not compromising their case to keep us, the nosey folks of America, “informed.”  Let them do their jobs.  They’re professionals.

  • My whole family prays everyday for a safe return for this little one, our hearts goes out to the family.   Please bring Ayla home safely.

    • Anonymous

wonderful, Lisa!!!  I just sent an email to everyone in my contacts list that I know pray, and asked them to pass it on to everyone they know that prays. I hope others will do the same. As you know, He does answer prayer!!

      • Sometimes But If she is dead I do not think he is bringing her back alive.

        • Anonymous

Just pray, David. it’s all we can do

          • Ya I”m glad it is not my kid I might be in jail but someone would talk.  PS. Sorry I get so emotional few things in life are worth prison this would be one of them.

          • Anonymous

            I don’t get what you’re saying, but that’s ok

          • Hey  It might be a good thing you do not get it. What I am saying if my child was missing and someone was not tell the whole truth I would make them talk. If it ment getting out a 5 gallon gas can and chaining them to a tree.

    • Anonymous

Many of us have added Ayla and her family to our prayer list. I think we can agree that God has a plan for everyone of us, believers or not. The fate of Ayla is already determined. What our heavenly father asks us to do is pray. When he knows we have faith in him, believe in him  rely on him to get us through he has been known to answer many prayers. God has a reason for everything he does. Sometimes we just can’t see it. I will pray for this little girl for  a long time.

  • Anonymous

Poor baby girl, she’s on my mind everyday.  I pray nothing horrible happened to her.

  • Guest

I have noticed there has been nothing on the BDN website for days about Ayla. I thought that was suspicious. I kept checking in in hopes there would be an update on finding her or an arrest. But nothing until this morning. So, I feel something must have broke in the case for them to be back in the same spot again

    • kennyh

Maybe there was nothing because there was nothing new to report except the same stuff they have reported 100 times already.

      • thats true but I keep looking daily just in hopes that something new will show up

      • Guest

true story, I was hoping to see something postive that they had found her and she was alive or that they had made some sort of arrest …that’s all I am saying

    • Anonymous

You mean all of three days?

    • OldWench

The grand jury for that area meets on Feb. 8th and 9th.  They are probably hoping they can Ayla in time to be able to get indictments.  There will be more than one once they find her.

      • Anonymous

Did your crystal ball tell you this, or are you an expert on these matters who, much to your own dismay, hasn’t been consulted by the SP yet so you thought you should just share here???  Damn, all these so-called experts solving crimes on their keyboards…..

        • OldWench

          1. The dates the grand jury for each county are posted online via the state courts website.
          2. The grand jury hands down indictments based upon evidence presented to them by the state’s attorney.
          3. The blood evidence the authorities have now, they did not have the last time the grand jury met.

          It’s not rocket science.

          • Anonymous

Prosecutors don’t just throw together an accusation at the last-minute for a grand jury to consider. They take their time to make sure they have the basic facts of the case and a specific person for the grand jury to look at.

          • OldWench

Of course they do, which I’m confident they have been doing all along.  They’ve been running a very tight and methodical ship so far, so there is no reason to believe that they aren’t ready to indict on some lesser charges in order to get someone in that house to make a deal.

          • Anonymous

That would be a foolish move by prosecutors. You don’t seek an indictment until you’re ready to prosecute.

        • hasacluemaine

PS. I have seen SP lose chain of custody of a note used in a crime. I handed it back to them and suggested they may need it…LOL

  • Anonymous

Maine SP will not stop until they find her and find whomever is responsible for her death. They will be covering many of their tracks over and over again.

The kennebec river is a huge moving body of water with a lot of currents and at the time of her dissapearance, the river wasn’t frozen over anywhere. The fact they are searching a small area of it concerns me. I think the SP are doing it right I just am nervous about the piece of evidence that tells them to look there and in that small area. Usually that isn’t good news.

    • Anonymous

there has been a murder in east millinocket that has never been solved the young McLean girl

      • Anonymous

There have been many unsolved murders in Maine. The SP has evolved big time over the past 25 years. They will get the ones responsible for this. Know that. My guess is they have spent more time just reviewing the surveilance video from all angles on every street light or local business in the vacinity of the childs residence then they did 25 years ago investigating the crime of the McLean girl. With the increases in technology it is very rare that a person, particulary child, goes up missing or dead in this country without knowing who did it. Now to get a jury to convict (Casey Anthony) is a whole separate issue.

      • Anonymous

Yeah…and what about the poor woman found in the freezer only because the guy died?

        • Anonymous

Case in point. That was 25 years ago and they were able to determine the victim and the cause of death. Our technology today would catch that more often then not.

There is a popular trend with murderers that walk and Frank Julian figured it out early. Casey Anthony did the same. That is that they report the crime as late as they possible can. If gives the scumbag bottom feeding lawyers enough time to fabricate doubt and work with a larger timeline to get a jury unable to convict beyond all reason. The real question for the SP in this case is when was the alst time anyone saw Ayla. Was it the night before the 911 call or was it 7-10 days prior? If it was 7-10 days prior, evidence gets murky, stories get fabricated, and police have to go back that much further to assemble the timeline.

I have faith in the SP, a lot of faith. The boots on the ground are working this thing as hard as they can, trust me.

    • I hope the SP don’t get frustrated and do something stupid that will allow some lawyer to to get a vital piece of evidence throw out. Whether it be physical evidence or testimony. Please SP maintain your normal standards of excellence. Cross every “t” and dot every “i” This girl deserves justice.

I am lost, Mcausland said at once he believes she is not dead.  Why are they searching if she is not dead.  I know she most likely is ,which is sad.  I home someone confesses to this soon and get this over with and do there time which i hope is forever no release

    • Anonymous

They never said she wasn’t dead, they just said the reports that she was and being attributed to the MSP (boston station) was false….he never said she was alive either.

      • Anonymous

No on tv he said he believed for her life she could be dead but did not want to say that.  I would have to research it, but i think it was wabi tv he reported on

    • Anonymous

Same reason when a murder is committed they don’t tell you what weopon was used!

  • Anonymous

Mainenana, there is no reason to think like that they will never find her! It seems to me that you and some others have gave up on bringing Ayla home, no matter how. Everyone is still VERY hopeful. There is totally no need of being pessimistic! One way or another….Ayla NEEDS to be found!! <3

  • morning sentenal says newscast 2:45 pm Someone finally crack,  My heart dropped at this headline.

wabi just said (on their noon report) that there will be a news conference at 3pm today.

        • Anonymous

Thank you, I just found it on WABI.  I hope it is a case something like the father stashed Ayla somewhere so mother wouldn’t take her from him. But then how in the world would he ever reunite with his daughter and not get caught?  I sill pray she is found alive!

  • Anonymous

I too look at the Bangor  morning & night to check the status of this baby.  It is beyond me how anyone with a soul could harm this precious child & carry on daily & not give themselves up in their behavior, saving their own ___ is more important than putting this angel to rest & giving family members who truly love her some peace.

  • Anonymous

Sounds like somebody cracked with the recent revelations!  While I wish she were alive, I think the reality is she isn’t and this search is based off from very reliabe info from somebody that was in the house.  My 2 cents!

    • Anonymous

      agreed!

my heart breaks for this little girl and friends and family. if this poor little girl was discarded in the waters then from past stories i have seen similar, she is likely going to be found at a dam that the waters flow into. i hope she is not in the waters though but i do hope and pray she is found whether good or bad. i cannot imagine what some people in this girls family have been and are going through. i have kids 7, 5, and 4 and cannot imagine what i would do if something ever happened to them. how can one purposely do harm to such innocent children these days.

    • Anonymous

Harm to children makes no sense to the sane. When you have a child through a one night stand, have parents that fight over custody and do not communicate, have one parent going through rehab for substance abuse which her child was present during the first 20 months of her life, and evidence of physical harm that was not cared for promptly by dad I would say the odds of child endangerment goes up greatly. I am sure your 7,5, and 4 year olds have a much better chance at survival then Ayla did just based on the monkeys on the back of the parents and the bad decisions they made all along the way.

It is sad what our society has eveloved into and what we are now expected to consider normal or acceptable behavior. I made the horrifying mistake of going through Walmart the other day. What I witnessed from mother to child in terms of disciple or lack there of was very awakening. Many children today as beautiful as they are have no chance. The ones that do have a chance are up against the odds.

I have a doctor friend that gives me the numbers on the number of children that go through opiate and heroin withdrawal as soon as they are born. Then they end up leaving the hospital with mom, or dad, or a relative with the same issues. Report on that violence BDN. That is violence. That is news that is worthy of getting upset about. Try morals for a change, you just might feel better and perhaps have a lengthy career. A big perhaps.

You’re so right, and it’s heartbreaking.

I have heard that 50% of babies born at EMMC are born to mothers on methodone. Terrible. Your comments are very true.

        • 50%? Come on, that seems awfully high.  I don’t think I’ve heard of a hospital anywhere in the country with that rate of infants testing positive for any kind of illicit drug. Where did you get that stat?

    • And how many woman fight and give all they have just to have a baby.. Medications, Shots, Surgeries, and none of the options are successful. This so kills me, and so many Moms on this sight. I am  blessed to have one child. would have loved to have been blessed with a couple of more, but it wasn’t in the cards for me. It just makes me wonder..

      • Anonymous

Those who are unable to have children may adopt a child or provide a good home to a foster child. There are reasons for everything even though we may not see it at the time.

  • Why_Whynot

I’d rather get no news than bad news.  Maybe we are just getting an update at 2… I hope.  I’m trying to pray and stay positive for this little girls safe return.

  • Anonymous

Every night I check on my kids (11yrs & 13yrs) and as I watch them sleep I thak God that they have been healthy and kept safe. I can not fathom how anyone could ever hurt another human being especially when they can’t even try to defend themselves and walk around like nothing has happened.  I Pray, Pray, Pray that Ayla is found safe and unharmed and returned to her family that wants/deserves her. I am in hopes that she is with someone who is taking care of her and just hiding her out for “someone” who thinks the mom shouldn’t have her.  May be way off but am hoping.
    COME HOME SOON AYLA !!!!!!

    • I honestly think that the day of that prayer isn’t going to come true. IF she was with someone hiding, the care giver would be so scared and would have made arrangements by now to give her back. Between Nancy Grace, the Boston News, the BDN, so much news, so much time has gone by, someone would have given her back by now especially knowing that they could have made a deal with the SP, and the DA for her safe return.

    • Anonymous

You cannot fathom how any1 could hurt this child. Unfortunately, some people don’t know the first thing about caring for a child. They might as well live on Mars as they are so out of touch with reality and common sense. In the end the child is the 1 who suffers.

  • Anonymous

I have suspected from the start of this tragic event that Ayla went missing before DePietro claims she went missing…….which gave suspects a measure of time to deposit the child’s body a long way away from Waterville….or even Maine. If one of the 3 people in the house, where the baby was last seen alive, did fatal harm to Ayla (Ayla’s blood in the basement)…it is unbelievable and unconscionable that the 3 of them would cover for each other in such determined and stubborn unison. I would think one of them would break sooner than now.

    • OldWench

If the amount of blood they found indicates death then they do not need a body to prosecute.  They would offer some kind of plea in exchange for being told where she can be found.

    • Anonymous

Very good point and my thoughts too. Too many people know something, someone will crack.

    • Anonymous

Its just a matter of time before one of these people open this case up,  I truly believe that after talking to these people and now their back to the river again just a different location someone was given a deal if they offered information. As another poster had said fast moving current if she is in the river could create problems with locating her so not uncommon to comb over old territory

    • Why_Whynot

Maybe that is why the grandmother was not sure if she was home that night or not…

  • Conley Raye

Nancy Grace is all over this on her nightly show on headline news channel. Tons of additional information that BDN failed to report on.

    • Anonymous

Unfortunately she makes up or guesses information without the facts as Mr. McCausland pointed out to her when he was interviewed on her show.

  • Anonymous

They must have some kind of information to go back to this place again . If we find out who did harm her, if she is harmed; i hope the court system hands them justice at its purest form !

  • hasacluemaine

They need to start at easy access points to the river that are hidden from public view and then follow the currents downstream. They need to focus on areas that will snag objects.

    • Anonymous

The “need” to???  So, you must be an expert in these kinds of cases, yes??  Do you think that a team of professional divers and criminal investigators might have already figured out what they need to do???

      • hasacluemaine

No, not from what I have seen so far. They took weeks before they got to the Kennebec..I have been less than impressed.

  • Guest

I’m hoping by Spring they find Ayla as well as those responsible.

  • Anonymous

What I find interesting is that the green pj’s Ayla was reported to be wearing when she disappeared are pictured on the website aylareynolds.com.  Can someone explain to me how that happened?  Did they go buy another outfit for the picture or happen to have taken a picture of it without a child in it before she went away?  Does this seem odd to anyone else?

    • Anonymous

No. These things are mass produced.

    • Anonymous

Not odd at all.  Google image search “Daddy’s princess pajamas”.  Not only do numerous pictures of the pajamas in question come up, but also images of Ayla and Justin Depietro.

  • Anonymous

My heart breaks for Ayla and the family members left to wonder what has happened to this little angle.  That being said, I am also left wondering how so many of the people leaving comments here seem to know just what the police should be doing, and are more than happy to let the world know.  Really?? Do you honestly believe that you know how to work this investigation better than the professionals?  It is laughable, really.  And, to all you who criticize how the police are investigating, or how much information they are releasing, please do us all a favor and shut the hell up!  If you are so skilled at how to manage a major case investigation, get off your damn sofa, move away from the computer, and go get a job in law enforcement.  Perhaps spending some time learning how the job is done might change your perspective.  All these armchair detectives / lawyers / prognosticators just leave me steaming…….  That is all, carry on…..

This is nothing like Casey Anthony. research Haylee Cummings. The only difference dad was working. The girl friend had a party many were home. she said the back door of the trailer was open someone took Haylee. Dad was not aware his daughter was missing until he got home from work at 3 30 am. 4 people in the home no one was talking. make a long story short baby OD on drugs they dumped her in the St John’s river down in Florida. never found her body river was loaded with gators.      Haylee and Ayla gives me the creeps  its so identical!  Haylee’s  911  the dad accused the girl friend of doing something with Haylee.  SP  in Maine are not releasing the 911 call .

  • Early Friday afternoon, a diver removed a black object from the river and put it in a large plastic tub. The tub was then taken to the police special services underwater recovery team vehicle. A diver then returned to the river. Oh Dear Lord..

    • PaulNotBunyan

They said it was unrelated to the search for Ayla. Go diving near a bridge and you might find things like guns, knives, cash registers, etc. related to other crimes.

    • Anonymous

McCausland said the object was not related to the search for Ayla.

Im guessing they added this later, as i didnt see it the first time i read this article!

Found a backback from a student that graduated in 2006 — How old was Justin?  I think I read 23 wouldn’t that work out right?  Guess its not his though because its not related to the case.

Sounds about right, my son is 22, and graduated in 08, but his Birthday is in Dec, so would make a 23 year old (born before cut off date) a graduate of 06

I think the police and warden service should get a big THANK YOU, for the hard work and dedication they have given to this baby girl!!!! Many police work over time simply because they can’t sleep thinking about this baby.  I do not see anyone else braving the freezing water to search. Just comments telling them how to do their job. I pray that she isn’t in the depths of the river but that is looking more and more a likely scenario . Beautiful Angel wherever you are I Pray you are not in any sort of pain and are happy.

    • Anonymous

      It is their job.

      • Anonymous

I thank everyone who does their Job well. And do not tell them how to do it. A little thank you and appreciation can go a very long way in someones life. And I appreciate our warden service, our firefighters, our snow plow men and women, our police, EMT’s Soldiers on on I could go of all the people who make our lives safer. With little to no concern about themselves. The selfless heros who do their job that many couldn’t do.

  • this is a terriable thing to be reading ,the total fact tthat they even have this problem at all is tragic!!!

  • this is a shame, I pray that beautiful little Ayla is found alive!! Please find her today but not at the bottom of the waters they are searching… A lot of people care about little Ayla and its heartbreaking the direction the evidence is leading.  I do not think Aylas mom knows where her daughter is but I do think that her father Justin and the others whom were in that house do know what has happened to her.  I have this weird feeling Justins mom knows and thats why she  is confused to as where she was that night, were you in that house? or not?  If someone has hurt this little girl I hope you rot in hell.. Bless you Ayla, Hoping for the best results possible

How is it so many people don’t or refuse to
understand? Some information is no ones
business, some info the cops hold back for reasons
such as only the killer knew he broke the pinky
toe. Mostly and likely to stop lynching
of innocent people brought by mass misinformed
    hysteria by blood thirsty people.
Just because many have no hope in their
pessimistic life stop trying to make everyone
    else miserable.

  • Anonymous

The fact that the investigation continues to lead back to the river is just disturbing. I pray she is still alive. Though, at the very least, she deserves to be properly laid to rest.

  • Anonymous

I wonder if they take the currents into account when scheduling/organizing their search? I know weather conditions and current conditions can make a difference if a body was disposed of in the river. I guess it would also depend on when and where the body was disposed. I hope they certainly don’t find her there but it seems the most likely location.

    • Anonymous

I think they are professionals who do take everything into account.

I dont know how, whoever has either harmed Ayla or has her hidden, can still be sane…..i would be physically sick worrying that i would be found out if this was me, i would be constantly thinking what would happen to me if i was found out, OR what would happen to me if i owned up…i just couldnt imagine living my life with that worry!

    • Mayner am in so much agreement with you on this..  Her beautiful little face is plastered every where. If someone had her, talk about a bad case of paranoia, and looking over your shoulder every minute of the day.. I do so pray that there is a very strong willed person holding on with both hands, but am doubtful. Someone had to say something in order to have the SP go back to that place diving..

Because you have a conscience I assume. People who are capable of harming a child can’t possibly have one.

some people have no empathy for others and no conscience. conscience is God speaking to you.

The AP reported that the divers found a backpack and a knife, but it’s supposedly not related to Ayla’s disappearance.  They should still test the items…especially if it contains clothes with blood on them.

So was there a press conference?

  • Anonymous

I can not for the life of me figure out why the FBI does not haul in all the folks who were there that night or other nights and give them some
sodium amytal and find out the truth.

    • Anonymous

I don’t believe that would be legal unless they agreed to it. Even though we have no use for these people, they aren’t stupid.

    • Anonymous

Well, we have a thing called the U.S. Constitution. If the government did what you propose, any confessions and information garnered under such treatment would be thrown out of court immediately and there would be a major civil lawsuit against the government.

  • Justin, Elisha and Courtney. You guys KNOW something. PLEASE, give Ayla and her mother and every soul who is praying for her the answers. How do you feel taking her away? Do you feed off the sadness and hurt and cruelty? Have some humanity and say SOMETHING

This story continues to go in the right direction as far as not leaving the story and the police doing their job.  If these bozos/drug using/drug dealing idiots had days with that poor thing missing, surely they took her out of Maine if something happened to her.  Maybe not….they’re lying excuses for humans who have made a pact that they won’t break.  Is the stellar, only-working, drug dealing sister out on bail?  Poor Ayla……..I hope she is found okay.  Surrounded by substance abusers who don’t work, unlikely.  Prayers to Ayla.

The police should search any property of relatives/friends of those 3 adults connected to this case. Perhaps that will be the place poor Ayla was taken.

You know, my heart always sinks when I hear about a missing child, but for some reason this case has me particularly bothered.  Perhaps because it is close to home?  Perhaps because my husband and I have been suffering form empty nest syndrome now that our sons are grown.  Perhaps because I feel the need to have a little youngster in our lives again.  I don’t know.  Damnit, I want to know what happened to this little girl.  If someone hurt her, how insane!  My husband and I would have taken this little wee one and we would have been so happy to have a little screaming, demanding, temper-tantrum-filled 2-year-old in our home again.  I’m sick over this case.  My optimism is shrinking.

    • I understand how you feel, but there was never a need for anyone to take her in.  She has a mother, and her mother wanted her back but Justin was trying to cut her off from her child, hence her need to file a court case to get her back on Dec. 15.  Everyone who has been following this case is extremely frustrated, I can imagine how the police must feel, like they are chasing their tales for no reason because the father and/or one of the others knows what has happened to her but aren’t talking, thus necessitating this intensive search for the baby in the river.  I hope they put them all under the jail.  I’m so sick of them walking around free while so many do so much to find this child.

did you watch Dr. Phil tonight. another case like this one

I say make the 3 adults in the house take truth serum or regressive hypnosis…yes, it may be a bit extreme but I feel the critical stage has come and gone and this little girl needs to be found now. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

U.S. Constitution. Look into it. Oh, and hypnosis doesn’t work on people who don’t want to do it.

I have read the wiki’s on it and everything else you can locate online..I’m just thinking out loud, last time I checked it was not illegal…OK there, since comments are closed, Obviously Ryanrobbins, I meant, last time I checked, speaking your mind and thinking OUT LOUD wasn’t Illegal….

        • Anonymous

          Wow.

It would very much be illegal under the following sections of the Constitution:

          (1) First Amendment. The right to speak freely also includes the right not to speak.

          (2) Fourth Amendment. It would be an illegal search. And no court would ever grant a warrant to do such a thing because of other provisions such a procedure would violate in the Constitution.

          (3) Fifth Amendment. It would be violating a person’s right to remain silent.

          (4) Eighth Amendment. A strong argument could be made that drugging a suspect or a witness constitutes a cruel or unusual punishment for not talking.

          (5) Fourteenth Amendment. Such conduct by authorities would violate a suspect’s or witness’s rights to due process.

Additionally, drugging somebody without consent constitutes assault.

          • additionally knowing what happened to a 20month old child is murder

What are you trying to say?

          …..

Desperate measures are illegal in the United States.

Hypnosis only will allow them to say what they want to say, and is not allowed in courts as a confession.  In hypnosis, your brain will wake up when you are asked to do something that you dont want to do.

Sodium pentathol may get them to tell them something interesting, yet again it falls on the rights of the person recieving.

The river search is lame.  If the child was there they should have searched there when she went missing, now she could be washed out to sea.

    • Or maybe DHS take the sister and girlfriends child and let them have no contact until they fuc*in talk!! Then they can see how one would feel

I still find it hard to believe that THREE adults in one home and no one seems to have given a thought to her from 8PM to 9AM?  What 20 month old sleeps in til 9AM?  No one was concerned?  No one peeked in in the night or early morning?  That just smells like a rat…. The dear little girl needs to be found either way and give closure.

It is impossible to believe, they are all liars.

One of them will crack. probably the girlfriend when She and the father breakup.

I think they have figured out the three are not telling the truth and that she wasnt checked on for all those hours is because they knew she wasnt there in her room and in bed.

i am glad they did not find ayla. i do feel that phoebe and justin and his other family members and girlfriend know where ayla is. i pray ayla is safe.

  • Still thinking in desperation here… Was not snowy out when she disappeared, so no tracks.
No ice on the rivers or lakes this winter.
Winter activities are taking place now, snow skiing, snow mobling, sledding, hiking. A lot of ground is being covered by these activities.
Police, FBI, following their every move, so they cannot go check and make sure the body {if there is one} is where they have it stashed it, and is still out of sight.
No one coming forth to say they have her in their custody.
No Doctors coming forth saying she came in to have her cast removed.
I know Law Enforcement is going nuts trying to get this all together.. lots of questions to still be answered.  I not only feel sorry for Alya, but also Law Enforcement doing their jobs.. keep up the good work guys, at least a lot of territory is being covered now with the winter activities going on.. She will be found one way or another, and I pray it is another..
