GREENBUSH – Earl S. Palmer, 61, died unexpectedly Jan. 25, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Sept. 28, 1950, in Atkinson, the son of Stanley Marshall and Aretta Getchell.
Earl was an avid reader of books and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, etc., and loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sandra (Morrill) Palmer of Greenbush; two sons, Michael Palmer of Palmyra and J.J. Humphrey of Oxford; four daughters, Carolyn Spencer of Dexter, Geshar Hardison of Kenduskeag, Patricia Soucier and Angel Humphrey, both of Greenbush; brothers and sisters, Jim, Richard and Thomas Palmer, Eleanor Ryder, Janet Huff, Laura Chase, Norma Wing, Bev and Billy Marshall; nine grandchildren, Patrick, Amber, Emily, Ryan, Jonathan, Todd, Tanika, Jessica and Tasha; a few great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Herbert, Gordon and Robert Marshall.
A service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, director of chaplaincy services at Eastern Maine Medical Center, officiating. Family and friends may call 11 a.m. until time of the service Saturday.
