Millinocket Republican Committee to caucus Jan. 30

MILLINOCKET — David Duplisea, chairman of the Millinocket Republican Committee, has announced that Millinocket, East Millinocket and Medway will caucus at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Northern Timber Cruisers’ Clubhouse on Millinocket Lake Road.

The purpose of the caucus is to participate in the presidential straw poll and to elect local officers, delegates and alternatives to the state convention in May. Maine Republican Chairman Charlie Webster and state Sen. Doug Thomas will be guest speakers. For more information, call Debbi at 723-4744.

American Cancer Society appearance-related classes begin Feb. 6

BREWER — The American Cancer Society will offer a free community-based, national program entitled, “Look Good … Feel Better,” for female cancer patients wishing to learn how to overcome appearance-related effects of chemotherapy and radiation. The classes will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, April 2, June 4, and Aug. 6, at Cancer Care of Maine. For more information or to register, call the American Cancer Society at 800-227-2345.

Assisted Living center to host Snow Ball dance for residents and local seniors

BANGOR — Winterberry Heights Assisted Living will host a semiformal “Snow Ball” dance from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at 932 Ohio St. Residents of the facility and seniors in the community are welcome to an evening of dancing to big band sounds. White dress attire, white decorations and white-theme foods will be the order of the night. Admission is $10 and benefits Furry Friends Food Bank, which helps seniors feed their pets.
