State prison changes visiting hours to aid families

WARREN, Maine — The Maine State Prison has changed visiting hours to accommodate families’ schedules. According to a press release issued Tuesday by the Maine Department of Corrections, Monday visiting hours have been cut and replaced with evening hours from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

As a result, prisoner phone times have been reduced on those days and increased on nonvisiting days.
