EDDINGTON and ORONO – Mary Helen Turner, 91, passed away Jan. 20, 2012, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Nov. 13, 1920, in Orono, the daughter of Frank X. and Stella (Cloutier) Lemieux.

Mary enjoyed her walks and her time at Chemo Pond paddling her boat. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor.

She is survived by her children, Bernard Turner and wife, Susan, of Bangor, Mark Turner of Bangor, Gary Turner and wife, Donna, of Eddington and Karen Sylvester of Eddington; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William Turner; a daughter, Brenda Turner; and siblings, George E. Lemieux, Dorothy L. Lemieux, Albert A. Lemieux, Frances M. Marsh, Kathleen M. Duncan, Rita C. Bouchard and Cecelia R. Chase.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Orono. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 170 U.S. Route One, Suite 250, Falmouth, ME 04105. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
