WATERVILLE, Maine — An Oakland man was arrested over the weekend after Waterville police say he hit his wife.

Waterville police Sgt. Alan Main said Monday that police arrested Christopher Chubbuck, 26, on Sunday afternoon at the Budget Host Inn on Kennedy Memorial Drive.

Main said the woman suffered bruises in the incident, but did not require any medical attention.

Chubbuck faces a misdemeanor Class D charge of domestic violence assault, and he was released on bail Sunday, the sergeant said. He faces up to a year in jail if convicted.
