Maine Warden Service swears in four new game wardens

AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Warden Service swore in four new game wardens in Augusta on Friday.

Wardens Emily Bastian of New Gloucester, Clifford Littlefield of Morrill, Sarah Miller of Newry and Troy Thibodeau of Augusta each completed an intensive hiring process and the 18-week Basic Law Enforcement Training Program at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro, the warden service said in a press release.

The new wardens will attend the Advanced Warden Academy at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy for 12 more weeks. There, they will learn skills such as search and rescue, tracking, surveillance, recreational vehicle enforcement and crash investigation, fish and wildlife laws and patrol techniques, public relations and other skills.

Also Friday, the warden service announced that Warden Glenn Annis of Dover-Foxcroft will be promoted to sergeant and will supervise Section Nine in Greenville. Annis has worked in the Maine Warden Service for 18 years.
