PORTLAND and SARASOTA, Fla. – Eva C. Edwards passed to the Lord Jan. 9, 2012. She was born Jan. 1, 1917, in Cyr’s Plantation, Mich., to Mary Lena (Lavoie) Coty and Amos Coty.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Vilasuso; second husband, Wallace K. Edwards; son, Roland Vilasuso; grandsons, Jon Vilasuso and John T. O’Connor; five brothers and five sisters. Eva is survived by her daughter, Delthia L. Vilasuso (O’Connor), with whom she made her home; son, Roderick Vilasuso of East Granby, Conn.; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

There will be no local services. Interment and memorial service will be this spring in South Portland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to TideWell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238 or VNA and Hospice, 50 Foden Road, South Portland, ME 04103.
