MADISON, Maine — Matt McClintock, a Madison High School senior who earned All-American status in cross country as a senior, will attend the University of Purdue in the fall.

McClintock, a three-time Class C state champion, never lost a cross country race on his home soil as a senior for the Bulldogs, and he ran to 15th place in the Foot Locker National Championships in San Diego, earning him All-American honors.

McClintock was the first Maine schoolboy to achieve that feat since Ben True did so in 2003.

In addition to his 15th-place run at nationals, McClintock was third in the New England championships and sixth at the Foot Locker Northeast Regionals this fall.
