Teen killed, driver injured after car hits Biddeford garage

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

BIDDEFORD, Maine — A local teenager was killed early Sunday morning when the vehicle he was riding in left the roadway and struck a garage, police said.

Chaz Dorian, 19, was killed when a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Patrick Beatson, 19, failed to negotiate a curve on West Street and struck the garage, Chief Roger Beaupre said in a news release.

Beatson was transported to Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Beaupre said. The chief said the driver was traveling well above the posted speed limit.

The homeowners were home at the time and were not injured, and the garage suffered significant damage. The accident remains under investigation, and police are consulting with the state’s medical examiner and the York County district attorney.
