BANGOR, Maine — A 34-year-old woman called police Saturday night from a neighbor’s house saying her ex-boyfriend had a knife and had cut her, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.

“The victim said her hand had been cut,” the sergeant said.

Officer Kim Donnell found the woman and the man, identified as Shane Rivers, 33, of Hermon, standing outside the Griffin Road apartment.

Rivers, who was charged with domestic violence assault, “was erratic and not making any sense” when interviewed by police, Edwards said. He said Rivers told police, “It was all a blur.”

No knife was recovered.

Rivers was taken to Penobscot County Jail, where he remained Monday afternoon, a jail official said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
