    Another tax exempt building in Orono, what a shock!

      All tax excempt buildings are not created equal. For example, a church in the middle of town with a very small congregation  that meets several times weekly does not draw the number of poetential downtown customers that UCC will. Banks have always been the anchor of downtown  America as almost every citizen  is a potential  customer. New and prosperous store fronts do pay property taxes.
