CALAIS – Lila May Tracy, 71, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, surrounded by her family. Lila was born Jan. 24, 1940, in Calais, daughter of the late Arnold and Hazel (Peed) Young.

She attended Calais area schools and in August 1976, married John "Bud" Tracy. Along with her husband Lila owned and operated Portside Inn, Calais, for more than 15 years. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 3, Calais, and enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, fishing and camping.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bud; and her special friend, Donald Marchese. Surviving are her four children, Marian McGouldrick, Joan Brooks, Stuart Murphy and Daniel Murphy and his wife, Melissa; a sister, Joan Mahar and her husband, Victor; two brothers, Stanley Young and his wife, Vera, and Edward Young and his wife, Ella, all of Calais; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Aaron, Jeremy, Joshua, Keith, Kevin, Kristofor and Krystal; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her family, Lila will be missed by numerous friends.

A celebration of Lila’s life will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Burial will be afterward at Calais Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared at
