PRESQUE ISLE – Mack "Sonny" "Bones" Ayotte Jr., 76, passed away Jan. 6, 2012, at Cary Medical Center, Caribou. He was born Jan. 11, 1945, in Presque Isle, the son of Mack and Edna (Higgins) Ayotte Sr.

Mack worked for Carroll’s Auto Sales for 50 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time with family, going to Dunkin’ Donuts and running cars for Carroll’s.

He is survived by two sons, Mack Ayotte III and his wife, Vicki, of Orland and Matthew Ayotte of Presque Isle; two daughters, Susan Tardiff of Blaine and Tina Caron and her husband, William "Tib" Caron, of Presque Isle; two brothers, Beryl Ayotte of Presque Isle and Bernard Ayotte of Mapleton; two sisters, Maxine McPherson of Worcester, Mass., and Jeanette Ayotte of Westfield; six grandchildren, Bryan Caron, Bethany (Caron) Staples, Benjamin and Ericah Cheney, Marvel and Marley Ayotte; a great-granddaughter, Camden York; a special companion, Janet Jaillet of Presque Isle; and a special friend, Wesley Miller of Presque Isle. He was predeceased by his wife, Ethel Mae (Christie) Ayotte, in 1998.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Larry Palmer officiating. Friends may call noon until time of the service at the funeral home. Spring interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. Online condolences may be expressed at
