The Associated Press

WATERBORO, Maine — Bail has been set at $250,000 for a 23-year-old Maine man accused of robbing a supermarket and suspected of several other robberies.

Sheriff’s detectives arrested 23-year-old Christopher Dimastrantonio of Gorham on Tuesday.

Police say a masked man walked into a Hannaford Supermarket in Waterboro and told employees he had a firearm. Police said he told employees behind the service desk to give him money immediately or he would shoot them.

Dimastrantonio was arrested on charges of robbery and violations of condition of release during a motor vehicle stop on Route 202 in Hollis. Authorities say he is a suspect in robberies in Gorham, Scarborough and Portland over the last two months.
