ORONO, Maine — A Bangor man was charged with marijuana possession Tuesday night after police discovered the drug in his vehicle during a traffic stop.
Jesse Wood, 18, of Bangor was pulled over on Orchard Trails Drive because his vehicle had no headlights on, Orono police Captain Josh Ewing said Wednesday.
“When [the officer] got to the driver’s door he could smell fresh marijuana,” Ewing said.
A search of the car also turned up rolling papers which can be considered drug paraphernalia, according to Ewing.
Wood was charged with possession of a usable amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia but was not arrested, Ewing said. Wood’s two passengers, two 18-year-old males, were not charged.
