    Actually, it appears that an accident sent him to hospital; not black ice.

    Speed must have been a factor. If his speed was zero he would not have lost control…since he would not have been moving.

    Very thankful that this gentleman is recovering, it could have been a lot worse!

  • This is my uncle and he was taking a turn going 25 mph; when my father reached the scene, the roads were so bad you could barely walk on them, let alone drive.  So, have some respect for a man who almost lost his life.

    P.S. Studded snow tires are for snow, not ice.
