BATH, Maine — Local police took a 14-year-old Arrowsic girl to Sweetser for a mental health evaluation Wednesday evening after finding her distraught on the Sagadahoc Bridge.

Two of the girl’s friends called police just after 6 p.m. Wednesday to report that she was upset and crying, and they were worried that she might jump off the bridge, Bath police Lt. Stan Cielinski said Thursday.

She told police officers that she did not plan to jump, but they took her to Sweetser for evaluation.
