WORCESTER, Mass. — A formerly married couple have been placed on probation and ordered to pay more than $80,000 in restitution after pleading guilty to stealing from the woman’s employer.

Danielle Chivallatti was placed on probation for 10 years in Worcester Superior Court on Wednesday after pleading guilty to larceny, uttering a forged document, forgery and making false entries in corporate books.

Her ex-husband, Steven Chivallatti, pleaded guilty to larceny and uttering a forged document and also got 10 years of probation.

Prosecutors say Danielle Chivallatti wrote checks payable to her husband and herself from the account of Kettle Brook Lofts condominiums where she worked as a bookkeeper in 2007 and 2008.

The Telegram & Gazette reports that their lawyers say they used the money to pay rent and for child care expenses.
