Workshop to provide tips on coping with winter blues

BANGOR, Maine — Senior services organization Rosscare will offer a workshop next month on beating the winter blues.

At the event, scheduled for 2-3 p.m. Jan. 11, at the Sylvia Ross Home in Bangor, nurse practitioner Amy Cotton will provide tips on recognizing and coping with depression, seasonal affective disorder and post-holiday letdown. Participants will learn how nutrition, socialization, spiritual engagement and physical activity can help to alleviate sadness and isolation during the colder months.
