VAN BUREN – Sylvio Corbin, 69, died unexpectedly Dec. 26, 2011, at his Acadia Heights residence. He was born in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, the son of John and Celia (Corbin) Corbin.

He was employed for area farmers most of his working life.

Sylvio is survived by one son, Michael Corbin and his wife, Nicole, of Grand Falls, New Brunswick; one daughter, Lisa Sirois of Van Buren; one brother, Frank Corbin of Van Buren; two sisters, Nancy Jimenez of Bridgeport, Conn., and Lorraina Pelletier of Grand Falls, New Brunswick; five grandchildren, Ashley, Melissa, Nathan, Sara and Jessica; and two great-grandchildren, Owen and Mackenzie. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan (Chasse) Corbin, in 2005; and by brothers, Conrad, John Jr., Albert and Robert Corbin.

Relatives and friends may call 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Spring interment will be at Grande Riviere Cemetery. To leave online condolences, please visit
