BANGOR, Maine — A Kenduskeag woman who was arrested earlier this year for theft at a Bangor Mall store was busted again for the same crime at a different store in the mall, according to police.

Shari Nakai-Lombardi, 39, allegedly tried to leave J.C. Penney without paying for a pair of jeans and various other items, including a sweatshirt, valued at $204 on Friday, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. Store security confronted Nakai-Lombardi and contacted police. Officer Jamie Fanning made the arrest, according to Edwards.

Nakai-Lombardi was out on bail for an Oct. 19 incident in which she allegedly stole clothes and accessories from Sears and tried to leave the store while wearing them, according to Bangor Daily News archives.

Nakai-Lombardi was charged with Class C felony theft since she was on bail for the previous incident, Edwards said. She also faces a Class E misdemeanor charge of violating her bail conditions.

She remained in the Penobscot County Jail on Tuesday afternoon.

Nakai-Lombardi faces up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine if convicted of the theft charge.
