FARMINGTON, Maine — A number of local stores were burglarized over the weekend, according to police, and store owners are asking the public for help in finding the culprit or culprits.
When employees returned to work Monday after the Christmas holiday, the break-ins were discovered at eight establishments, from a coffee shop and pizzeria to hair salons and a logging company’s office, according to Farmington police Officer Bridgette Gilbert.
Gilbert told the Bangor Daily News that cash was taken from some businesses, while other stores had reports of vandalism. She declined to say how much money was taken or whether any of the stores had video surveillance, noting the case is still under investigation.
Gilbert said that police think the burglaries are connected and a $1,000 reward is being offered for any information that leads to the conviction of those involved.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call Farmington police at 778-6311.
