GLENBURN, Maine — Police have identified the woman who was killed in a two-car accident Monday afternoon on Pushaw Road.

Kristie Collins, 22, of Hudson was killed instantly when the vehicle she was driving was broadsided by a pickup truck, Chief Deputy Troy Morton of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said early Tuesday afternoon.

The truck’s driver, Josh Young, 20, of Glenburn, was not injured, Morton said. Young’s passenger, Chris King, 20, of Orono, was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for treatment of minor injuries and released.

The accident happened near Skidgel Road just before 1 p.m. Monday.

Collins was northbound when her 2001 Ford Taurus crossed the centerline on Pushaw Road and into the path of Young’s 1996 GMC pickup truck. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Morton said road conditions were a factor in the accident, but Collins may have been traveling too fast.

“[Speed] could be a factor,” Morton said.

The accident remains under investigation and was reconstructed Monday.
