Alasdair Fraser (University of Maine sophomore), men’s basketball player, earned his first career weekly honor after averaging 16 points, eight rebounds and 1.3 blocked shots to help the Black Bears win three games. The 6-foot-7 center’s efforts included a double-double (19 points, 11 rebounds) in Wednesday’s 64-60 win over Eastern Illinois.

Justin Edwards (University of Maine freshman), men’s basketball rookie, earned his fourth Rookie of the Week honor this season by averaging 16 points, eight rebounds and 4.7 assists in leading Maine to three wins. The 6-3 guard capped the week off by scoring 16 points, grabbing eight rebounds and adding five assists in Friday’s 71-58 win at Brown.
