Teenagers charged in Portland credit union robbery

PORTLAND, Maine — Two teenagers have been arrested for robbing a credit union in Portland.

Police say a 14- and a 15-year-old boy were arrested at their Portland homes Friday morning and taken to a juvenile detention center pending court appearances.

The teens face charges for Wednesday’s robbery at the University Credit Union on Forest Avenue. Officials say they concealed their faces with hooded sweatshirts before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspects are being held at the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland pending court appearances.
