Old Town police investigate reported burglary on Main Street

By Judy Harrison, BDN Staff

OLD TOWN, Maine — Police are investigating an apparent burglary Thursday morning at a residence in the 400 block of Main Street in which electronics and knives were reported missing.

A tenant at the house told police that he returned home shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday to find a green pickup truck parked in the driveway and a man leaving the building, according to Old Town police Sgt. Scott Casey.

The man leaving the house led the tenant to believe that he was there on behalf of the owner of the home. When the tenant went inside, he discovered the items were missing, Casey said Thursday night.

Anyone who might have seen a full-size green pickup truck with stickers on its rear bumper in the area Thursday morning is asked to call Officer Debra Holmes at 827-3984. (Judy Harrison, BDN)
