The Christmas pig that each year decorates a front doorway in the Hancock County community of Gouldsboro has become something of a local holiday tradition. Rick and Beverly Henion dress their porcine ornament throughout the year to match the seasons. Before donning the Santa hat, “Porky” sported a blaze orange stocking cap to mark hunting season. When influenza becomes a local problem, on goes a surgical mask. Come Christmas, out comes the Santa hat. There are no lights and the pig is not inflatable, but it’s nonetheless a fixture of the holidays on West Bay Road.
