ANGELINA D. CARDELLO

WINTERPORT – Angelina Marie (D’Angelo) Cardello, 97, formerly of Lawrence, Mass., died Dec. 11, 2011, of natural causes at her home. She was born Sept. 30, 1914, in Lawrence, Mass., to Marco and Vincenza D’Angelo.

She was predeceased by her husband, Armand Peter Cardello; her sisters, Philomena Gauthier and Frances Carpenito; and granddaughter, Jill Marie Cardello. She is mother of Joseph Armand Cardello of Winterport and his wife, Penny Bohac-Cardello; and grandmother of Cheryl Hodsdon, Wendy Lainez-Blanchard and husband, Lloyd Michael, Kurt Cardello and wife, Allison, and Jon Cardello and wife, Tamara; and six great-grandchildren, Danielle, Lauren, Sorrell, Jacob, Jessica and Jared.

An amazing strong willed lady of wit and charm, she was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend to the lives she touched. She retired from Craig Industries in 1978 and worked for Textile Mills before that. She dedicated more than 45 years to her vocation. She married in 1934 and lived in Lawrence, Mass., until 2006 when she moved to Winterport with her son, Joseph and daughter-in-law, Penny. She enjoyed gardening, Italian music, cooking many of her Italian dishes, and loved being with family and friends. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She always made sure her family did not have to go without and was a firm believer in having enough to give to others less fortunate.

A celebration of her life will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at 148 Billings Road, Hermon.
