LEWISTON, Maine — The singer of the hit tune “American Pie” will be the headline act kicking off next year’s Lewiston-Auburn Film Festival.

Festival organizers say Don McLean will perform an hourlong concert with a full band following the opening night party.

The 66-year-old McLean, who lives in the coastal Maine town of Castine, still goes on tour performing around the world. He is best known for the hits “American Pie,” “Vincent (Starry, Starry Night)” and “Crying.”

The festival runs from April 13-15.
