BANGOR, Maine — An empty knife sheath on a transient man’s belt caught the attention of police early Monday morning. He was arrested after they found the knife hidden on him, Bangor police Sgt. Garry Higgins said.

“He had it hidden up in his [shirt] sleeve,” the sergeant said of the blade.

Tyler Poole, 20, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. and charged with carrying a concealed weapon and with possession of a scheduled drug for a diverted Suboxone strip found in his wallet. Suboxone is used to treat opioid addiction.

Poole was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and was still there at noontime, a jail official said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
