BANGOR, Maine — Tickets for the “ Riverdance” show set for April 30 at the Bangor Auditorium will be on sale beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, according to a news release issued Friday by the city of Bangor.
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. performance, the only one scheduled for Bangor as part of the show’s farewell tour, range from $39 to $49 and will be available at the Bangor Auditorium box office, Walmart stores in Bangor and Brewer and online at www.ticketmaster.com.
Few shows have touched audiences as has “Riverdance.” A celebration of Irish music, song and dance, the show focuses on the evolution of Irish dance and its similarities with — and influences on — other cultures. The show draws on Irish traditions and combines the richness of the music with the magic and sensuality of the dance.
Composed by Bill Whelan, produced by Moya Doherty and directed by John McColgan, “Riverdance” to date has played more than 10,000 performances. It has been seen live by more than 22 million people in more than 350 venues throughout 40 countries across four continents and has played to a worldwide television audience of more than 2 billion.
The show has sold more than 3 million copies of its Grammy Award-winning CD and more than 10 million videos, making it one of the best-selling entertainment videos in the world.
