Westbrook police arrest three for armed robbery

WESTBROOK, Maine — Two men and a boy face charges after allegedly assaulting a cabdriver early Thursday morning, holding the victim at knife point before robbing him and fleeing, according to local police.

The cabdriver suffered minor cuts, according to Capt. Tom Roth.

David Martinez, 22, of Gray, was charged with violation of a protection from abuse order, robbery, aggravated assault and terrorizing in connection with the incident. Abdiaziz Dahir, 19, of Portland was charged with robbery and aggravated assault. The juvenile was charged with robbery and aggravated assault.

Westbrook police went to the area of Brackett Street and Prospect Street about 4 a.m. Thursday for a report of an armed robbery. A cabdriver reported picking up three males in Portland. Upon reaching Brackett Street, the trio reportedly assaulted the man.

Roth said police identified and arrested all three later Thursday.
