Outlook: The Black Bears return to “The Pit” for a nonleague contest against the Dukes. UMaine is coming off Saturday’s 73-56 loss at Navy. JMU, UMaine’s second Colonial Athletic Association opponent of the season, had a five-game win streak snapped Sunday in its league opener at Towson (65-58). The Bears expect to be tested by Dukes a ballclub that is big, fast and active. UMaine will need a strong defensive effort, must limit its turnovers and hit the boards hard to keep JMU, No. 21 in the RPI, from getting second-chance points. The Bears must get back quickly in transition and try to deny dribble penetration.
