BRUNSWICK, Maine — The civilian authority that’s in charge of the former Brunswick Naval Air Station is going to hold another air show this coming summer.
The Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority said Wednesday the Great State of Maine Air Show on the last week of August will feature the Air Force Thunderbirds. The following year, in 2013, the air show will be held again, this time with the Navy’s Blue Angels.
Deputy Director Jeffrey Jordan says the word came down at a conference in Las Vegas where the flight demonstration teams announce their schedules.
The air show last summer was the first without the Navy. About 11,000 attended on Saturday and Sunday’s performance was canceled because of Hurricane Irene.
