MEDDYBEMPS, Maine — A community meeting previously scheduled by the U.S. Postal Service for Monday, Dec. 12, at Meddybemps Community Hall has been postponed.
The meeting had been arranged to invite residents’ feedback and answer questions about the agency’s plans to close the Meddybemps post office. In July, the Postal Service announced its intention to study nearly 3,700 post offices across the country for possible closure in an attempt to stem billions of dollars in financial losses.
The postponed meeting has not yet been rescheduled.
