BANGOR, Maine — Christopher Smith, former longtime film critic for the Bangor Daily News, has released a new eNovel on Amazon’s Kindle and Barnes and Noble’s Nook titled “From Manhattan With Love.”

The thriller takes key characters from Smith’s international best-selling thrillers, “Fifth Avenue” and “Running of the Bulls,” and pulls them into a prequel for his upcoming novel, “Park Avenue,” due early 2012.

“From Manhattan with Love” is set in New York City. It features Carmen Gragera, the international assassin from “Running of the Bulls” who is ordered to assassinate her associate and fellow assassin, Alex Williams.

The problem? She has fallen in love with him. But with a threat against her own life if she doesn’t complete the terms of her contract, Gragera is torn between following her heart and being with Alex or going with instinct, murdering him and taking the money. Just as she has always done.

It’s a situation that leads Carmen and Alex to Leana Redman of “Fifth Avenue,” and here, the three characters collide in a book that skewers Manhattan society to its core while also offering devastating twists that lead to chaos, death, revenge and the destruction of one infamous New York City landmark.

During the past year, Smith has released 11 books, all of which have become best-sellers in the U.S. and throughout Europe. “Fifth Avenue” remained in Amazon’s Top 100 for seven months while “Running of the Bulls,” released in May, is on the list presently.

Those wishing to order the book may do so on at or on Barnes and Noble at
