PORTLAND, Maine — A man from New Hampshire was arrested for drunken driving on Black Friday after he spent most of the night consuming alcohol in the parking lot of Cabela’s in Scarborough.
Jessie Lush of Ossipee, N.H., had been drinking in the parking lot while waiting for the store to open, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland.
After leaving the parking lot, Lush was pulled over in Portland by Sgt. Lucas Hare, according to McCausland. Lush failed roadside sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with DUI. He spent the rest of the day at the Cumberland County Jail.
The previous day, a Portland man told police he was late for a Thanksgiving dinner when they clocked him going 102 mph.
Farid Habibzai was heading southbound on Thanksgiving day when he was spotted by police. McCausland said other troopers were given a description of Habibzai’s vehicle, and Trooper John Davis eventually spotted the car and pulled Habibzai over.
Habibzai faces a charges of criminal speeding.
