FARMINGTON, Maine — A drug deal gone bad and a kidnapping report has led to charges for two men and a woman in Franklin County, according to police.
Officers from the Farmington Police Department along with the Maine State Police and Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Hurst Lane on a kidnapping call, Farmington police Chief Jack Peck Jr. said in a press release.
When police arrived, they met with a man who said he had been held at gunpoint at a New Vineyard Road residence for several hours before being released at a different undisclosed location. The victim told police he was caught up in a drug deal that went bad and was threatened with firearms.
Police arrested Dahlon Campbell, 22, and Shane Webber, 25, both no address listed, and Sandi McAlpine, 41, of Jay.
The two men are facing charges of kidnapping, criminal threatening with a firearm and violation of conditions of release. Information wasn’t immediately available on the prior charges. McAlpine was charged with kidnapping and criminal threatening with a firearm.
Tyrell Gorham, 26, of Farmington and the Bronx, N.Y., was arrested and charged in a separate but related incident. He was arrested on a warrant and charged with criminal restraint and criminal threatening with a firearm.
All four suspects are due in court in February 2012. The case is still under investigation and further charges could be pending.
