Poland man in the hospital after being stabbed multiple times

POLAND, Maine — An Androscoggin County man is in stable condition at a Lewiston hospital after he was stabbed multiple times late Thursday, according to police.

Christopher Coolidge, 20, of Poland was stabbed in an altercation with three male subjects, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office. One of the suspects, Linwood Edwards of Auburn, was located and arrested later Thursday in Skowhegan.

Edwards was arrested for elevated aggravated assault in relation to the stabbing, and is being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $10,000 cash bail and a probation violation.

The incident remains under investigation and the other two suspects remain at large. Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by Mechanic Falls police, the Maine State Police and the Skowhegan Police Department.
