SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — The police department in South Portland is teaming up with an electronic security company and Family Crisis Services to provide home alarm systems to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.
The S.A.V.E. program, short for Security Against Violence Effort, aims to provide victims with a panic alarm for temporary use. If activated, there would be an immediate response from the South Portland Police Department.
A formal announcement was expected Thursday. The company, Protection 1, provides installation, maintenance and monitoring of single-family, multifamily and business security systems.
