BANGOR and GLENBURN – Inez V. Davis, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Nov. 28, 2011. She was born May 23, 1921, in Orneville, to Fred and Mabel (Bickmore) Cowallis.
Inez married Wendell F. Davis in 1937 and enjoyed 57 years of marriage before his passing in 1994. She was an entrepreneur owning a lunchroom in LaGrange and The Pine Tree Lodge, Cedar Street, Bangor. Inez and Wendell traveled and worked in Kittery and Portsmouth, R.I., for the Civil Service Navy Department until 1980 when they moved back to their cottage on Pushaw Lake. Inez was very active in the Nazarene Church in Bangor, Eliot and Portsmouth, R.I. She had a strong faith and loved working on church activities and teaching Sunday school for many years.
She is survived by two sons, Wendell and his wife, Joyce Davis, of Danielson, Conn., and Forrest and his wife, Kim Davis, of Glenburn; one brother, Bernard and his wife, Mabel Bennett, of Glenburn; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; and two siblings, Leah MacDonald and Rethel C. Bennett.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at First Church of the Nazarene, 1465 Union St., Bangor.
