Husson University launches business internship program

The Associated Press

BANGOR, Maine — Husson University has launched a new program to foster student internships with corporations and nonprofits.

The Bangor university’s College of Business said Monday the Internship Investment Bank will encourage work experience opportunities for students while providing educational benefits to employers.

For each new paid student intern placed in a corporation or nonprofit organization, the employer will receive a $500 credit deposited into an account in the employer’s name. Those credits can then be used toward the cost of an MBA degree at the university for an employee.

College of Business Dean Ron Nykiel calls the Internship Investment a win-win scenario for the student, company or nonprofit organization, and the college.
