MADAWASKA – Alvey Dubois, 79, passed away Nov. 26, 2011, at a Madawaska health care facility. He was born Oct. 25, 1932, in Fort Kent, son of the late Paul and Laura (Babin) Dubois.

Alvey worked for 25 years as a schoolteacher in Madawaska until his retirement in 1978. After retirement he owned and operated Madawaska Sport Shop for a number of years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus in St. Agatha.

Alvey is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rena (Dubois) Dubois of Madawaska; one daughter, Marcia Hardin and her husband, Howard, of Poland, Maine; one son, Philip Dubois and his wife, Michelle, of Madawaska; three grandchildren, Jesse Bell and his wife, Sara, of Easton, Todd Dubois and his wife, Sierra, of New Hampshire and Josh Bosse of Madawaska; three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ben and Lyla; three sisters, Florence Landry of Connecticut, Theresa Ouellette of Fort Kent and Laurette Chasse of Grand Isle; one brother, Paul Dubois of Van Buren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven siblings, Andre, Adrian, Bert, Alma, Emelda, Edna and Marie Mae.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may offer their condolences to the family 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church.
